TestNav Delivery System

(use the same download to install or to upgrade TestNav)
Version 6.5.001 now available for downloading
Download the TestNav™ delivery system to each computer (Windows or Macintosh) or a file server within your LAN/WAN environment. This software is needed in order to take a test.
Note: If you are upgrading, you do not need to uninstall the existing version of TestNav, nor do you need to adjust your proxy settings; installing this version over a previous version of TestNav will carry over the existing settings to the upgraded software installation.

Verify the TestNav Install
To verify that TestNav is installed correctly and can access your eMeasurement Services site, follow these steps:
  1. Launch TestNav by double clicking on the TestNav shortcut icon on your desktop. Enter this URL in the TestNav drop-down address field:
    http://www9.etest.pearson.com/NAEP
  2. Click the Go button. When the TestNav login screen appears, you have verified a successful installation.
    • You can close the window by clicking on the X in the upper-right corner of the screen (on a Windows machine), or by clicking the red X in the upper-left corner of the screen (on a Mac).

Proctor Caching Software

This software is used to accelerate the delivery of test content in the eMeasurement environment and reduce the amount of bandwidth required for electronic testing. It is recommended for use with TestNav and is required for use with audio testing. The Proctor Caching Software is available in both Macintosh and Windows versions. Refer to the Proctor Caching User’s Guide for specifics on installing, configuring, and using the Proctor Caching Software.
  PC Download and Run Instructions:
  1. To begin the installation process, click the Download Installer for Windows link below.
  2. When prompted to run or save the file, select 'Run'.
  3. Select 'Install' when the Proctor Caching information screen displays.
  4. If this is your first installation, please read the proctor caching user's guide available above.

  5. Download Installer for Windows
  Mac Download and Run Instructions:
  1. To use the proctor caching solution on a Macintosh platform, you must be running OSX.
  2. Determine whether your proctor caching server is running OSX version 10.2 or higher.
  3. Save the appropriate default configuration settings and script below to your OSX desktop.
  4. If this is your first installation, please read the proctor caching user's guide available above.
